Umoja Welcome Ceremony
This ceremony is held at the beginning of each fall semester to welcome our first-year and transfer students of color to Susquehanna. Participation and attendance are encouraged for all students. As a community, we recognize that it is important to support student success. At Susquehanna, your village will consist of faculty, staff and other students. The Umoja Welcome Ceremony introduces you to this village with whom you will grow with over the next four years.

First-Generation Pinning Ceremony
Celebrates first-generation college student graduates.
Honoring Ceremony for Native Students
Celebrates graduating Native American students for their achievements and contributions to the university over their last four years. Participation and attendance are encouraged for all students.
Lavender Graduation Cording Ceremony
Recognizes LGBTQ+ graduating students, and celebrates the adversity they have overcome to successfully complete their degrees. Participation and attendance are encouraged for all students.
ROTC Commissioning Ceremony
Marks the transition from officer trainee to leader of soldiers, resulting in a cadet becoming a commissioned officer.
Umoja Stoling Ceremony
Honors our graduating students of color, and recognizes the distinct challenges they encounter and the victories they win as they navigate their way to graduation. Participation and attendance are encouraged for all students.
