Explore the Outdoors

Susquehanna University offers a dynamic Outdoor Recreation program designed to help students balance academic pursuits with engaging outdoor activities. The program provides opportunities to explore the university’s scenic campus and the surrounding Susquehanna River Valley. Students can rent equipment for canoeing, kayaking, picnics, and more at reasonable rates. Additionally, bicycles are available for short-term or semester-long loans, facilitating easy access to nearby trails and the river.

Beyond equipment rentals, the Outdoor Recreation program hosts various on- and off-campus adventures, including yard games and organized trips, fostering community and active lifestyles among students.

In a Valley of Four Seasons

The Susquehanna River Valley offers a plethora of outdoor activities for Susquehanna students. The region boasts opportunities for hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, golfing, bird and wildlife watching, outdoor photography and so much more. Popular destinations include the waterfront along the Isle of Que and Dale’s Ridge Trail, both offering scenic routes for biking and hiking.
